Signage

QUIZLET!

RETAIL DESIGN BLOG

What are graphics?

"Referring to drawing, painting, lettering or the reproductive arts of engraving, etching, lithography and so on."

• lightbox art, oversized photographs, blow-ups, sketches
• Pictures can be "read" by anyone.

Display designers use color, artwork and lettering graphics to speak for them.

Graphics are often "lifestyle" images.

Most, in chain stores, are enlargements of ads or commercials.

The lifestyle photo blow-up can appear as a framed or unframed background panel or in a lightbox lit from behind.

In effective displays, the mannequin in the front is dressed in similar outfits.

Lifestyle Graphics - a selling tool that supports the current ad campaign or reiterates the brand image.
